Letter from a Parent – Child Became More Independent and Considerate After Life Foundation Skills

“Hi Conrad,

……(after the Motor Development course of the Life Foundation Series in Shenzhen during the summer vacation) I would like to give feedback to you about the progress of my son Beannie (translator’s note: a six-year-old boy). He was becoming more and more independent, willing to learn to bathe himself, eating on his own, cleaning up by himself after toilet, studying independently, keeping quiet while his sister was doing her homework, etc. All were petty little things, but all were not properly learnt despite repeated efforts on my part to teach him. I thought maybe it was because he was more independent after his sense of security had grown in the Motor Development course. There was another incident that really moved me. Recently, for two consecutive nights, he awoke me in the middle of the night when he became thirsty. I was the kind of person who would do anything to avoid being disturbed while asleep. Therefore, I told him to find himself water to drink on his own, instead of waking me up to fetch him water. This morning, he said he was thirsty again last night. He told me because he didn’t want to wake me up, he just endured it and drank water only in the morning. Do you think he was becoming more considerate?
