Be Who I Am

For the past few weeks, I did two balances under the guidance of Conrad Ho relating specifically to my life purpose: “I feel my life purpose”, and “I live my life purpose”. After the first balance, the statement ‘Be the best I can be’ popped up. After the second balance, another statement came to mind: ‘Be who I can be’. This I felt described me.
One afternoon, as I was savouring this statement ‘Be who I can be’, I bursted into tears. I realized I have been playing a lot of roles: a good daughter, a performing staff, a supportive boss, a considerate friend, etc. All these roles were defined and measured in terms of relationships and my perception of others’ expectations. It felt as if it has never occurred to me that I can be ‘me’, until then. Upon this revelation, I saw an image of me, tied to many ropes, and at the other end of the ropes were the people that I have a relationship with. Then the ropes loosened and fell to the ground. I felt a refreshing sense of freedom. I looked around and saw smiling faces on those people who were holding the ropes. I felt that all of us were happier after I have let go.
A moment later, I felt that ‘Be who I can be’ was only part of the journey. The next part was ‘Be who I am’. Living in the moment and accepting ‘who I am’ will enable me to ‘be who I can be’ and ‘Be the best I can be’.
I was delighted with these revelations, and amazed at what balances could bring. Thanks again to Conrad for his guidance all along.
