Faith in My Retina

Faith in My Retina

Conrad Ho

It was early morning on 25 April 2008, the second day into my Visioncircles Teacher Training workshop in Waynesboro, Virginia, U.S.A. Still with sleepy eyes, I went into the bathroom to have a shave. To my amazement, I discovered that I could see each stalk of my beard under my chin clearly. Returning to the mirror after fetching for my comb and somehow having put off my glasses, I could see clear lines on my face and eyes in the midst of patches of blur.

The experience thrilled me. I dared not blink for fear that the clarity would disappear. When it was finally the time to blink, it did. Dispirited, I sat in bed and shouted to myself, “How come!?And I heard another voice of mine calmly responded, “Have faith!?“In what??I was really annoyed. “In your retina!?is the answer.

The sound shook me right down through my spine and echoed in my ears. “Okay! Have faith in my retina.?I did a balance on having faith in my retina, followed by another balance on having faith in all my “parts? After these procedures, I went over to the window to overlook the rolling fields and woods in the distance. It was so nice to feel the eyes moving and adjusting within! It was so nice to reconnect to my eyes again!
