Talking About “Ming’s Mirror” Again

Talking About “Ming’s Mirror” Again

By Amy Choi, Hong Kong, June 10, 2017

After more than six years of exploration, “Ming’s Mirror Method” (meaning, clear mirror) has come into being from its first discovery. While resonating with the clients in the field, the balance faciliator, through her own senses and perceptions, the use of physical movements, contact, language, etc., would reflect the clients’ stories. This method encourages clients to discover the different authentic aspects of their own and to make new decisions for the purpose of balance or harmony.

As said by the author of the following article Pu Xueping, “Ming’s Mirror” sometimes performs like stage plays. The faciliator needs to act “transparently” and in the manner of “emptiness”. She needs to put aside her own subjective judgments and trust the flow of the processes. In my own words, “Ming’s Mirror” is a process which goes with the flow and acts in the moment.

Different people would have different comprehensions when observing the cases of “Ming’s Mirror”. Some people would think it as art therapy, some people think it as performance art, some people think it as a kind of body-based balancing process; and some people would think that it’s having similar aspects relating to the family constellation system.

As a kinesiologist and the developer of “Ming’s Mirror”, in broad sense, I consider that it is an art of balance using physical movements of the body. Therefore, it can be defined as a kind of kinesiology. In the narrow sense, it does not employ muscle checking and hence it could not be defined as kinesiology. At present, I consider that it is more appropriate to describe “Ming’s Mirror” as a skill and art of resonance balance.

For six years, the “Authentic Series” courses have nurtured “Ming’s Mirror”, It has nurtered me at the same time. The life of art and balance leads toward truth, kindness and authenticity.
