I visited this place to do Brain Gym training more than 10 years ago. I am very happy to be here again in this beautiful environment, visiting Hong Kong’s only training institute for teaching professionals.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EDUHK) organised a training course for 40 of its teaching and administrative staff to enable them to learn about the philosophy, skills and applications of Dennison’s Brain Gym®.

Today, EDUHK staff learnt that Brain Gym is not just a set of “Move to Learn” movements, they also understood that Brain Gym is a balancing process, an education plan, a method to enhance learning effectiveness through a series of movements, and a philosophy that invites learners to learn, respecting the pace of learners. We call all these Educational Kinesiology.

Before the staff get to work, or when they are in their office and the class they teach, they can do “PACE” of Brain Gym to prepare themselves for the challenge of the day. In situations of seeing, hearing, writing, examination, and meeting deadlines, they can also do Brain Gym to enhance different learning abilities. At home, they can use it with their family and children to reduce stress, improve creativity and reclaim the joy of learning.

I trust that this training has once again opened the door to movement-based learning for the staff of EDUHK, and that they will make good use of Brain Gym in teaching, their work and daily life.
