Be Aware of Your Body’s Responses to Foods

One night in early December, 2010, my son had an upset stomach. He had no appetite for a regular rice fare, so I made some plain rice porridge. While he was eating, I talked about my having a nice lunch of calf ribs that day in a western restaurant. Normally, he would respond by saying, “I would love to have it some day, too, mom.” But that night, he stopped me from finishing my story. He said that his belly was reacting while I mentioned “calf ribs” – a feeling of nausea.
In a flash, I remembered a session in the Touch for Health (“TFH”) Synthesis workshop on body’s responses to foods. This reaction of my son helped me understand how the body would communicate to us. The body will signal to us about the foods that are not appropriate for us in the moment, reminding us to keep them away.
TFH is an excellent platform for us to know our bodily changes. Through muscle-checking, we have a bio-feedback mechanism to help us be more aware of our body conditions. Take the opportunity to learn more about TFH when there is one.
