The Conclusion of the Touch for Health Training Workshop Implies a New Start in Work
Amy Choi, Hong Kong, China, Jun. 24, 2015
The two-day Touch for Health Proficiency Workshop of the International Kinesiology College (IKC) and the eight-day Touch for Health Training Workshop ended yesterday in a spirit of taking Touch for Health responsibility by oneself, thinking of well being and passing on the torch.
There were 21 participants from Shenzhen, Foshan and Guangzhou of Guangdong, Liuzhou of Guangxi, Hangzhou of Zhejiang, Yuncheng of Shanxi, Beijing, Shijiazhuang of Hebei, Shenyang and Dandong of Liaoning. They participated in a 10-day rigorous training, going through written test, oral test, practicum and casework assignments etc. They also did various Touch for Health balances to improve themselves and took heaven and hell kind of drills in speech making. This time, two registered Touch for Health Instructors Luo Gang and Huang Jin Kun from Shenzhen re-took the course. Just like Shi Jianping, a registered Touch for Health instructor in Shanghai, they were interested in receiving further training to become Touch for Health Proficiency Workshop instructors and Instructor Trainers of Touch for Health Synthesis.
The arrival of this group of fresh graduates meant that Touch for Health as initiated by the founder John Thie in 1970s, and subsequently managed by the International Kinesiology College (IKC) from 1990s onward has been further developed in the greater China area both in depth and scope. For me, this meant that I should work harder as a Faculty Member of the International Kinesiology College to improve the quality of the Touch for Health teaching materials. In addition, I would like to offer further training for the instructors for the various courses provided by the Touch for Health School of the International Kinesiology College, develop competent Touch for Health Consultants, and refine the knowledge administrative and management system. There would be a lot of challenges in the work ahead. Really looking forward to it!
I would like to thank the sponsor of this workshop-Shenzhen Brain Body Balance Cultural Transmission Company Limited, a husband and wife partnership of Luo Gang and Chen Yanbing (Xiaoyue). I would also thank the support in spirit and action of the registered instructors in various places, especially those who had students participating in the training ¡V Luo Gang and Huang Jin Kun of Shenzhen, Shi Jianping of Shanghai, Liu Xiaohong of Dalian, Sun Ping of Liuzhou. I thank Conrad Ho, an Instructor Trainer of Touch for Health of the International Kinesiology College, and my best co-teaching partner. I always learn so much from him every time we co-teach together.
My next goal is to improve the Touch for Health teaching materials, and refine knowledge management. I would work towards the Touch for Health Goal-setting and Metaphor Training Workshop to be held in March next year and the creation of two international qualifications for Touch for Health consultants the year after next.
I am grateful to John Thie, the Touch for Health founder, for everything. I feel that Touch for Health is gradually reaching a time of greater achievements in the greater China region.
