On July 24-28, I went to Dalian to attend a “Move to Learn” Summer Camp. I was really looking forward to it before it started!

On Saturday, July 24, it was the opening ceremony. I was excited and happy to see so many other children. First, the camp leader began by giving an opening speech, and we all clapped our hands very loudly. The camp coaches introduced themselves. We the separated into groups. Each group decided a name, a motto, a flag, and then we began to play. We got to know each other in the process. That was great!

On Monday, July 26, I played a game that was really unforgettable. It was called “The Commando Crawl”. The groups competed to see which one was the quickest. When I began to crawl, the other groups were well ahead of mine. I didn’t know why that when I crawled, I could do it very easily and quickly. Very soon, I crawled ahead of the other groups, and my group won. Everybody appreciated my effort. I was very surprised I could crawl so quickly, and I discovered that in fact there were much potential in myself yet to be discovered and expressed.

On Tuesday, July 27, there was another unforgettable game called “The Cooperative Bucket”. There was a circle on the floor that we children could not go in. The bucket was put in the middle. We had to think of ways to move the bucket out of the circle with three strings, without using any other tools. I thought of a strategy that was really useful on every step of the way, and our group won easily. I felt a great sense of success, and I could not forget this.

On Wednesday, July 28, it was the closing ceremony. It was the students’ turn to expressed our feelings. Some people said something that was very moving! Then we received our certificates, and we were very happy. In the end, we sang the camp song – We are Fine Children. It was in this singing atmosphere that the camp came to an end. In the camp, I learnt many things. For example, how to make friends, how to cooperate with others, etc.

On Thursday, July 29, We flew back to Shenzhen and then rode a train back to Hong Kong. But that day there was a thunderstorm in Shenzhen, and the airport runway was flooded. We needed to wait at the Dalian airport for more than three hours. On 3:30 p.m., the flight finally departed. When the plane reached Shenzhen, the rain had stopped, but there was still thunder. So the plane just hovered in the air for one hour. Maybe there was not much fuel when it landed. I didn’t think riding on a plane could be so exciting. I almost sweated and I was very nervous! What a danger!

There were so many unforgettable things. Luckily, my brain had plenty of memory space!

Note: The 4th Move to Learn Summer Camp will take place in Fuzhou on August 14-18, organized by Sheyu Education Ltd. Will your kids will join us this time?
