Shifting to a New Trend
Since the outbreak of SARS in March last year, the monthly revenue of our company dropped dramatically to record low, not even 10% of the same month a year back. Afterwards, it recovered along with the wider economy, but to a lesser extent. Monthly revenue still down below 40%, we were, in fact, losing money up to date.
This was a completely new experience to me. Watching monthly bank balances of the company and myself dwindling, I was deeply worried about how to generate positive cashflow. Thus, white hair multiplied, sleepless nights appeared, and I was still using my spectacles despite its rust. It seemed that the road was coming to a dead end. I continued to rush through my day, but somehow, the endeavour simply did not bear fruits. I was drained dry.
Now, I am experimenting with how to manage my life passively (see Feature). Which is the “best” trend I should be operating in? Have I chosen the “right” trend or am I waiting for the opportunity to shift to it? How can I shift to it anyway? This process is both agonizing and invigorating. It was really a rich experience!
